Overview

This story revolves around the tale of a witch named Brenwalda who has been evicted from the town of Moveo Etiam for the practice of magic. She abducts the newborn infants of the royal family, first intending to do away with the children. Instead she decides to raise them as her own and teach them magic.

The children, Edgar and Griselda only know what they grew up learning from their Aunt Brenwalda; stay away from town, don’t go too far into the woods, and magic is good.

The story changes on the children’s tenth birthday when they conjure up a pet for themselves which causes Brenwalda nothing but trouble and ends up being instrumental in leading the children back to the kingdom and their rightful parents. What happens when everything that they have been taught is challenged? Better still how does Brenwalda react when she finds out that the children have left her and returned to her hated enemies? Find out in The Witch’s Brood. With 40 illustrations, the colorful tale comes to life before your eyes.

About the Author

Bonnie Kroll was born the second child in a family of seven including her parents. As a child she was largely overlooked and rather attention starved so being the innovative person that she is, she became a story teller/babysitter for her younger brothers. Her childhood was filled with imaginary friends and scenarios. She was very competitive with her brothers and with her classmates in school. She was outspoken, but her flights of fantasy sometimes got in the way of the more detailed work of school, making her an average student (day dreamer). As a young adult, she did what was expected at the time for a girl, dating and getting married, but never let her fantasy world get completely away. As her children grew, she would engage them in interactive role-play while on walks, thus making them a part of her dream games. She and her two girls are all writing new stories that they hope you will enjoy.
