Самид Агаев  родился в 1957 году в Ленкорани. С 1978 года живет в Москве. Закончил Московский Автомеханический институт и Литературный институт им. А.М.Горького. Дебютировал в журнале "Юность" повестью "Роман нелюбящих", получившей премию имени Валентина Катаева.
