Overview

When Berry the cherry ventures out to the green grassy meadow beyond the forest's safety where the young cheery was told never to go, the elders and his parents no longer trust him. Upon a chance meeting of a cranky, older cherry named Adventure, Berry learns that hard work is the key to earning the town's trust back and possibly changing their minds about being more adventurous.

The Wise Cherry, 2nd place winner of the Florida Youth Writers Association annual competition and published in the Florida Writers Association's Collection short story anthology, is a short story written by 12-year-old Jaina Hope.
