The Winter Tale Song

I began to write poetry for children out of my care and my love for them, especially for my nephews. I needed to express my love and care for them. It was an attempt to approach them and to relate to them in a way they’ll understand and appreciate and find useful later on. I wanted to excite them, catch their attention, and add a little extra joy and fun every day in their lives and mine. There are so many things I feel the need to tell them to prepare them for a better life as they grow up to more challenging ages and more challenging times, so as to enable them to create a better world than ours. I wanted to tell them in simple ways of the wisdom of the old in an effort to awaken the hidden wisdom in them. I believe them to be wise in their childhood years and capable to understand much more than we usually think and give them credit for. The wisdom of children never ceases to amaze me. To build on their wisdom is the responsibility of the old.
