About the Author

Kimberly Waters calls Arizona home. She recently retired from 36 memorable years of teaching hundreds of elementary students. She currently teaches online university classes and also does a little subbing now and then. Her 3 adult children live in 3 different states not too far away. Kim lives with her husband Duane and her cat, Fierra, and loves to go on road trips with her husband visiting family and driving their '95 Corvette. So where does writing and being an author of children's books fit in? In her spare time, of course. (Whatever that means!) Teaching all those years gave Kim quite a bit of insight into kids' thinking. Her favorite subject in school was always English - so why not put them together and write children's books! She's always had a knack for rhyming and so you will see quite a bit of her 'poetry' in her books. Someone once asked her, "Is it hard to make everything rhyme?" Her answer, "Sometimes it gets a little challenging - but it's fun!" For many of her teaching years, she wrote an individual poem for each student, framed it, and gave it to them as a gift at the end of the school year. She still has students, 20+ years later, come up to her as adults and say they still have the poem she gave them.
