About the Author

Philip Brown Rosenbaum became a Christian in his mid-twenties and wrote his first poem at the age of thirty-four.

He was born and raised in Washington, D.C. where he attended St. Albans School and sang in the Choir of Men and Boys at the Washington National Cathedral. He graduated from Harvard with honors and a degree in English, then worked with delinquent boys before being called to an evangelical ministry in California. His published works in prose are How to Enjoy the Boring Parts of the Bible (1991) and The Promise (1994), on the importance of honoring parents. His only published volume of verse is Holy Week Sonnets (2004).

Currently a fine arts consultant, he lives in rural Virginia with his wife, Jeanne. They have five grown children.

Philip began his preparation for writing The Wedding Party in 1985. He commenced writing the poem in 2006.
