About the Author

At the time of writing and illustrating this children's book, Lily Guo is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida studying Microbiology and Cell Science with a minor in Spanish. Lily was inspired to create this book due to her own diagnosis with a chronic illness in adolescence. To highlight some of the ways the power of being present and engaged can help brighten up a kid's day, she also drew upon her experiences volunteering with patients in pediatric units. In the future, Lily hopes to enter the field of pediatrics.
