About the Author

Corey Miller has many interests and areas of expertise. He has been a Ham Radio Operator since 1995, and holds an Extra class license with the call sign KE6YHX. Presently, he is Membership Chairman and Managing Editor for the Orange County Amateur Radio Club, and has been Club Historian since May 2016. He has been a governing board member since 2018, and hosts three Radio Nets as Net Control for the OCARC every week.

At home and with his truck, Corey is deeply involved in emergency preparedness of all kinds, and has been an associate member of an international emergency response communications organization since 2008. He has a solar and battery-backed four-transceiver Ham Radio base station with which he operates both voice and digital, local and worldwide.

Beginning when he was seven-years-old at his school in Irvine, California, computing has been a vital passion for Corey. He has been programming in assembly language since 1985, and currently programs in PowerPC Assembly Language and C++. He collects vintage Apple hardware and software, and plans to move to the newer Apple computers for his programming.

Some of his other interests include collecting books, Carl Barks comics, and Star Wars memorabilia. He has a full, homemade costume of Darth Vader constructed and patterned after the original in The Art of Star Wars show in San Francisco, California (1995); the Darth Vader costume in front of Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada; and the Star Wars exhibit at the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, California.

In his spare time, Corey enjoys learning about foods of all kinds, and has twenty-six recipes in his répertoire, fifteen of which are his own. For two days at a time, he prepares and bakes a 3-1/4 pound dark fruitcake, sans alcohol, for the Christmas holidays, friends and family.

January 2024 starts Corey’s fourth term as Membership Chairman for the OCARC, and he looks forward to completing a mammoth computer programming project for gaming and many other purposes, both private and commercial.

Corey is in the process of writing another book and looks forward to seeing his reader reviews. If you have any comments, reviews or critiques please submit them via the Barnes and Noble Write a Review button.
