Overview

Set in a friendly, adult retirement community located in the center of the Sunshine State, this novel is a powerful romantic suspense involving four wounded couples whose troubled pasts come back to haunt them with a vengeance when they become neighbors in The Villages. It all begins when Kathy Gagnon's high school boyfriend, Jimmy Martin, the biological father of her son, unexpectedly rents the house across the street, threatening to expose the lie she has kept from her husband, Phil, who has always believed that he is the father of the boy he has raised. When the County Sheriff's Assistant Chief, Raymond "Ray" Barrett, a functioning alcoholic, is forced to investigate the murder of one of The Villages most respected residents, he uncovers the secrets, sins and revenge surrounding these villagers who are living with spouses they no longer love. The murder throws the entire retirement community into chaos, causing the residents of this once quiet community to retreat to the safety of their homes, locking the doors behind them.
