About the Author

Albert Spalding Benoist was born in Monmouth Beach and still makes his home there. His father was a world class musician and Albert traveled with his father and mother in his early life. After graduating from high school he attended Columbia College and received his BA in 1940. Soon after, WWII intervened and he was drafted into the Infantry, then to the Signal Corps and finally ASTP at Harvard. He returned to Columbia and received his degree in Architecture in 1948. After working with New York City architects to gather experience and teaching at Pratt Institute, he formed a successful architectural/engineering firm in northern. New Jersey. After forty years of practice his firm merged with a local firm and after a few years he retired. He was now free to pursue other interests among which were painting, illustrating and writing as well as involvement with an orchestra, ballet and opera companies. He is also actively involved with organizations in his hometown. He is deeply concerned with the current state of our world. Because of this, his varied background and wide-ranging interest in technology he has become a futurist which has formed the base for his present writings.
