The Velvet Whisper is a powerful contemporary romance novel involving three professional women in their mid to late twenties who are also best friends working at a major finance firm in downtown Chicago. Three women, one story.

Nyambi, the main character, is a success driven ‘no love-life’ having, single female who craves corporate power yet has recently, accidentally, stumbled on a Brooklyn bad boy, who’s caught her eye.
Vanessa, one of Nyambi’s best friends is a warm spirited loving twenty-eight year old, mother of twins and wife who has finally concluded that her alcoholic husband, doesn’t realize her worth and it’s time to move on but not before she discovers she’s newly pregnant with his third baby.

And then there’s the diabolical diva, Jamie, Nyambi’s other best friend, who shares a three year old daughter with her wonderful husband Darnell, who is ten years her senior and is totally dedicated to his family. However, Jamie couldn’t be more opposite-not quite ready to settle down, she chooses to get comfort in the arms of many men.

About the Author

Dawn Nicole, the Author has been an avid ‘unknown’ writer for many years. At age ten, while living in Springfield, Mass, She discovered her love for ‘poetry’ while in 5th grade after being challenged to write about any topic. She happily avenged the request, writing her first poem entitled ‘Hot Sauce.’ She’d go on to join various Drama Clubs and multiple Writers’ workshops in High school, fueling her flame to create ideas for screen plays and one-woman shows.
In 1998, while at a Jacksonville, FL., lounge and thriving with an abundance of raw creativity, Dawn Nicole discovered a new way to bring her words to life, Spoken Word Poetry. Joining forces with a local performance troop enabled her to transform her words, get her voice heard and provided an outlet of which, she could channel her creative energy.
Although she became notably known for her poetic flare, after later moving to Atlanta, GA., Dawn Nicole, formerly Koffee, would never let go of her passion to write short stories and one-woman shows, only shared during public forums or to entertain family and friends at private gatherings. ‘The Velvet Whisper' released in December 2011, will make her first ‘official’ published novel.
