About the Author

I was born on February 9, 1990, in Rochester, New York. At a young age, I got into a lot of trouble. I was incarcerated as a child, and poems were the only thing that kept me relaxed. At the age of fifteen, I was released. I attended Dr. Freddie Thomas High School. At the age of sixteen, I dropped out of the eleventh grade. I started getting into all the wrong things and hung out with all the wrong people. In 2010, my mother passed away. After my mother passed, I really started going the wrong way. I stopped writing poetry and stopped a lot of other things that kept me out of trouble. A year later, I got incarcerated for a few years. That’s when I started writing again. After I was released, I moved to Medina, New York, and I needed a plan. So I started to come up with ways to do good and let everyone know what it was like in the hood. The only way I knew how to do that is through poetry. Then one day, I got a call, and there it was, my destiny.
