The Unity Principle
This book explores the connection between modern scientific discoveries and the spiritual understanding of how the cosmos originated from consciousness. The relativity theory of Einstein describes space-time as a four-dimensional continuum, while the quantum mechanics of Bohr requires that the tiniest particles or quanta are not truly separate since they behave as though they are connected or nonlocalized. Both modern scientific theories point to a universe that has underlying unity or oneness.

In addition, many other phenomena and experiences in the material and psychic realms cannot be explained by the obsolete doctrine of material realism. Such phenomena include ESP, out-of-body experiences, near-death experiences, mystical and religious experiences, memories of past lives, animal instincts and homing behavior, and the evolution of complex organs and systems in living organisms.

The materialist worldview also fails to provide a rational explanation for why the fundamental forces of nature, the principle physical constants, and the initial rate of expansion of the universe are incredibly "fine tuned" in our universe so as to allow for emergence of conscious beings. If any one of these factors had been different by even one part in a million then scientists believe that our universe would be far different than it is and that life could not have developed.

Dr. Richheimer provides a complete and rational explanation for how the cosmos and life evolve from consciousness. In what he terms the cycle of creation, he shows how Consciousness is first transformed into Cosmic Mind and then into space-time, then gases, which eventually coalesce in the center of stars, to produce electromagnetic radiation and heavier elements some of which are thrown out to produce the material that make up planets. Under the right conditions, a few such planets have conditions conducive to the development of life, and on a few of these planets intelligent life forms will evolve that possess self consciousness and the drive to complete the cycle by returning to the Source or Pure Consciousness.

The term "Unity Principle" is synonymous with monistic idealism, holism, and panentheism. It purports that the entire creation is the internal thought projection of the Transcendental Entity, and therefore, everything is a manifestation of the One. Hence, our sense of individuality (ego) is an illusion that we need to over come using time-tested spiritual tools such as meditation.

In the book the author explains in detail the mechanism by which human beings learn from past mistakes. Being ignorant of our spiritual nature, i.e. the Law of Karma, we must take on a new physical body following death to continue on the path of perfection until we achieve liberation or union with the One.

The book also explores many of the other connections between the scientific and spiritual understanding of existence, from chakras, ESP, meditation, mysticism, and religious prophets, to modern philosophers and scientists.
