The illustrations are black-and-white, adequate in number, and of good quality. The references are current, pertinent, and profuse. The index and table of contents are adequate. The appearance of the book is acceptable. Each of the chapters has an introduction and summary that provide excellent overviews of the topic. Because of the continuing development of this field, new editions are of great value. This edition is relatively encyclopedic in coverage of its topics and particularly useful to those involved in this field. Centers involved in any aspect of transplantation will find the text a valuable library addition.
