About the Author

Max Allan Collins is the New York Times bestselling author of Road to Perdition and multiple award-winning novels, screenplays, comic books, comic strips, trading cards, short stories, movie novelizations, and historical fiction. While the whodunnit is nicely handled, with some elements chosen to reflect mystery fashions of the period, the historical fidelity and the impression of what the great ship was like for its passengers in the days before the iceberg are the novel's strongest attributes. For once, a Titanic story does not focus in the sinking, which is dealt with only in an epilogue, but the reader's knowledge of what is to come gives the account an extra melancholy resonance.
