Herbert George Wells was born on the 21st September 1866 at Atlas House, 46 High Street, Bromley, Kent, England and died on the 13th August 1946 at Regent's Park, London, aged 79. "H.G." Wells was a prolific and successful English writer in genres including, history, politics, social commentary, and wrote textbooks and rules for war games, but he is best remembered for his science fiction novels. Wells is sometimes called the father of science fiction, as is Jules Verne. His most notable science fiction works include, The Invisible Man, The Time Machine, The Island of Doctor Moreau, The First Men in the Moon and most famously, The War of the Worlds.
