Overview

Eloise Wayward, otherwise known as the orphan of North End's infamous Snatching Hag, has lived her entire reclusive life on the cliffs of the northern shores where no one need suspect her of anything sinister. But in a world which hates the very mention of magics, her name is akin to a curse.

Seeking to disprove any accusations claiming she could be a hag's child, Eloise abandons her routinely melancholic life for the outside world where danger, magics, and the unknown abound. Within the massive Port Floundering exist secrets of a power she didn't think possible while a growing darkness rises in the east. The revival of the old Hunts seems imminent, if not inevitable.

Forever branded a hag and a monster by the rest of human civilization, Eloise is forced to make a choice:
Survive as a coward and accept fear as her shadow?
Or risk dying for a future she never thought she'd have?

Enjoy the adventure now with the new edited Anniversary Edition!

About the Author

Kathryn Illia is an Instructional Aide in the small town of Pismo Beach, California with a BA in English and Masters in Creative Writing from Queen’s University Belfast. She is partial to writing dark and gritty short fiction about American farms and the Victorian occult, and adores diving into research for a new story.

Like many of her characters, Kathryn can be found gardening or making friends with strange creepy-crawlies. She does not fear spiders and delights in the rain. When she’s not designing stories, she loves games of Fate with friends, the kalimba, embroidery, crochet, and combing beaches for treasure.
