The Tattoo Journal V3 Advanced Lining & Shading Exercises: By Daniel Yuck
The Tattoo Journal V3 is the 3rd volume of The Tattoo Journal workbook series.

In The Tattoo Journal V1 we practiced basic lining exercises ranging from left to right, right to left, up & down, down & up and a bit more.

In The Tattoo Journal V2 Advanced Lining Exercises we will be stepping out of the comfort zone and pushing the envelopes.

In The Tattoo Journal V3 we will be doing full designs that will require accurate line work, shading, and or dot work. We can combine what we have learned from V1 & V2 and implement our learnings to accomplish the best results we can achieve.

In The Tattoo Journal V3 there will be loads of challenges from full blown designs that contain angled lines, crossing lines, straight lines, shapes, curves, turns and more! Don't forget to use your learnings and findings from V1 and V2. I kept the same dotted line format from V1 & V2 but now we have pushed the envelope and are creating designs with the lines & elements.

The Tattoo Journal series is great to practice anytime, anywhere you'd want! Simply pull out a volume of The Tattoo Journal along with your pen or pencil and you're now practice ready.

The Tattoo Journals can be great to help us establish some key fundamentals that we can take with us into tattooing such as discipline, postures, hand speed & voltage, hand control, different pressures, and more!

The Tattoo Journal V3 is also great to help us as the artist develop a sense of good artistic choice making while we complete the designs. Some designs we can choose to line or shade with no lines, while other designs will require us to exercise our shading techniques and shading placements.

There are some designs that will even allow us to practice our dot work!

We can learn and exercise all of these crucial elements so we can start off our tattooing career steady, consistent and correct.

About the Author

My name is Daniel Yuck. I was born and raised in Texas.

Growing up I was always into graffiti which I feel is contributing and will contribute to my tattoo work and style I’m growing into.

The first time that I ever held a tattoo machine was on April, 13 2020. The amount of knowledge I have learned, and am learning in that amount of time is unreal.

Before I picked up a tattoo machine to practice on fake skin I did my studies for 3-4 months on cross contamination, needle depth, where the ink goes, styles of machines, different needles.

The rest was history.

Since I have started tattooing I managed to gain over 100K subscribers on Youtube and now I am practicing styles of tattoos I never knew I was able to do.

I have reviewed hundreds of needles & tattoo machines and tattoo gear. I have used countless fake skins in my time of tattooing and all of this is available on my Youtube channel @DanielYuck for you to check out.

My channel or social media’s are not to encourage unsafe practices of any kind.

My goal is to share, learn and grow upon my journey.

Please practice safely.
