The Sunset Cat
When Cat received the gift of adoption, it opened a new world to him. He discovered sunsets and fell in love. He shares that world in this book.
When my friend, Sheri, started posting pictures of her rescue cat watching the sunset every day, I saw a story unfolding. The man at the Pound named him "Cat," and his chances of being adopted were slim. He was an adult male, filthy and flea-ridden. She took him anyway and he has evolved into the most interesting, quirky and lovable pet!
The story is told, of course, by Cat, himself. There are 2 coloring pages in the back.

About the Author

Karen K Hafenstein: Karen, her Mom and her sister have 102 years of teaching between them. They loved it! Karen taught elementary classrooms, music, and directed the Northeast California Arts Project at California State University, Chico. She believes that smiles and laughter are most conducive to learning and that reading aloud to kids is one of the most important and gratifying things that one can do. Karen’s other love, Photoshop, has been instrumental in the creation of this book. One of her creations won honorable mention at an International Contest at Photoshop World.

Sheri Eby: Even though Sheri once worked at one of the largest tropical fish stores in the U.S., she has taught violin and instrumental music for 40 years to students age 2 to 83. She currently teaches strings and band at Redding School of the Arts. Sheri believes that teaching children to be kind to animals, appreciate nature, study music and read with parents will create a caring heart and lead to lifelong learning. Her rural home allows her love of photography, birds, and animals to flourish. Her photographs were the inspiration for this book. Charlie Brown, her other rescue, has a guest appearance.
