The Strange Case of Cavendish: Second Take (Illustrated)
• This classic novel is brought back to life with over 30 illustrations to captivate the reader.

Dubbed “An Erotic Western Thriller,” the posthumous collaboration between a popular western romanticist and a modern-day “book doctor” has produced a new kind of book hybrid. This retold adventure pits a spirited New York newspaperwoman against a shyster lawyer, dangerous cowboys, and Mexican banditos -- with an assist by a strike-it-rich miner, a town marshal, and a kidnapped millionaire. “A clever premise that promises to breathe new life into old tomes,” notes Byron Rupert McCafferty, Online Critics Corner.

About the Author

Although many of Randall Parrish’s book are about the Old West, he was a Midwesterner born in Rose Cottage in Kewanee, Illinois. After graduating from law school, he joined a firm in Wichita, Kansas, and eventually became city attorney. Switching career, he became a reporter with the Rocky Mountain News, the start of a long career with various newspapers. While working with the Associated Press, he published his first work of fiction, When Wilderness Was King. Numerous popular novels followed.

Howard Lowell Osterman has a fondness for westerns, science fiction and horror fiction. Raised in the south, he worked for several newspapers before becoming a popular writer-for-hire, working with book packagers and custom publishers. With a growing reputation as a “book doctor,” he has taken on a number of editing assignments, but prefers writing original fiction. His chilling novel Short Changed is the first entry in a trilogy. He is the editor responsible for the Zane Grey’s Two-Gunned Tales anthologies.
