About the Author

Doug Lipman Bio: 

Doug Lipman has been a professional storyteller and musician for 25 years and was a preschool teacher for five years. He is a regular presenter at the National Storytelling Conference where he teaches both beginning and advanced professional storytellers as well as amateurs. He enjoys eliciting the creative storytelling spark from children and teaching others to bring forth stories from children.

As a workshop leader, Lipman facilitates groups of teachers, public and school librarians, school library media specialists, performers, and recreation leaders. He is a member of the National Association for the Preservation and Perpetuation of Storytelling and one of the founders of the League for the Advancement of New England Storytelling. Lipman received his M.A. in creative writing from Hollins College, Roanoke, Virginia. He did graduate study in English literature under a fellowship in playwriting from the Schubert Foundation, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.
