About the Author

Lindsay Bonilla (lindsaybonilla.com) is a professional storyteller and author whose previous picture books include Parents’ Choice Award winner Polar Bear Island, I Love You with All of My Hearts, and The Note Who Faced the Music. She lives with her husband, two wild and creative kids, and her dog, Blitzen, in North Canton, Ohio.

Noar Lee Naggan (noarleenaggan.com) also illustrated Lilah Tov Good Night (by Ben Gundersheimer). Originally from Israel, with a background in animation and graphic design, he is now a full-time illustrator in Edinburgh, Scotland.

When her light begins to fade with age and illness, Griffin seeks the stories he knows to stay connected to her, and ultimately, carries her stories—their stories—forward once she's gone. Illustrations in an innocence-imbued American folk style bring the story to life in saturated colors. Though elements of the plot are abstract and the reference to one character as both "grandmother" and "storyteller" may confuse younger children, this is a sweet representation of the ultimate soft place to land: in an adoring grandparent's love.
