During an entertaining jousting tournament, a mysterious villain known only as the Hooded Phantom attacks the capital with his army. Three young adults, Stephen Brightflame, Tyrus Canard, and Kari Quinn, try to survive as their family and friends are slaughtered and the city they call home is destroyed.
