Making its paperback debut, this is probably the best of the last four Rat books. It's also a nice, uncomplicated read for the holiday. Jim diGriz is in an unusual position: He actually has to save his lovely wife. You might recall that when rescue is necessary and Angelina is around, it's not usually Angelina who's in danger. James and Bolivar also turn up, as does the heat -- because from all appearances, Slippery Jim is about to take a one-way trip to a very hot place. Luckily, eternal damnation doesn't really scare him all that much; it's better than boredom, and he was getting awfully bored.
