Overview

This is another in my series of sonnet collections in my attempt to understand and convey the breadth, scope and mastery of William Shakespeare's own sonnet collection. I have translated and analyzed Shakespeare's sonnet collection but believe that my own sonnet series will add a dimension of understanding that only comes from actually employing this art form. You will note that my sonnet collection totals one hundred fifty four (154) sonnets, the exact number of his collection; that is, for each of his, I have written one of my own. I have undertaken this work with humility and the aspect of a student who intends to learn from the master but who, also, wishes that he has learned his lessons well enough that this own work can also provide some entertainment, educational and inspirational value to the reader, as well.

About the Author

I have written poetry from childhood; it was a grade school teacher who first added a comment on one of my works with questions as to whether I was alluding to "Keats," "Shelley," 'Byron," or other such Middle English artists. I, at that age, never heard of them, so I guess this style of writing follows a universal spirit and, at the same time, unique to me in this modern era. Now, at least when I write I not only know who these artists are (and the other poets I have studied, from classical to contemporary) but, in turn, are more than mere poetic allusions, they are my living, breathing, guides in this luminous field.

My publications include:

1.Rhymes from the Heart (2003),
2.Kidron's Calm (2004),
3.The Sonnet Collection of William Shakespeare: Translated & Analyzed (2005),
4.The Sonnets Inspiration Gave Sweet Birth (2008), and
5.Poesy's Reflection: A poetry collection sonnets sway (2011).
6. The Sonnets: 78 - 100 (2011).
7. Poetry Music Lives By (2012).
8. The Sonnets: 101-154 (2013).

As I have elsewhere stated, my goal is to contribute to our poetic legacy and wish that my work encourages other new artists to do the same.
