The Song and Dance of Addiction

Addiction . . .
Another word for heartache and despair

Who could ever understand --
No one, unless it happened to you.

Do you ever wonder, "What's wrong with me? Why am I different? Why do I do what I really, at times, do not want to do? Something inside (deep inside of me) seems to rise up and I lose control again."

Are you being played? Is there some force that is stronger than you that has control? You are not alone. There is an enemy (a whole army of demons) that works to destroy you. It is an enemy that knows your weakness. You, at times, are helpless in this thing. You are being played.

We dance to a certain music played just for us--played using our weaknesses, by the enemy of our soul. Yes, the devil (or Satan) is his name. You can run away and refuse to believe, but it is true. You will be played, until you face the possibility that it is an evil spirit who works on you! I thought that I was bad and did bad things, when I only wanted to please myself and have a little fun; but then the fun turned into shame. You must face the consequences of the addiction and helplessness.
