The Snow Child
During a seriously snow deprived December, twelve-year old Tyler is horrified to learn that he has been selected to play the lead in his school’s winter play, The Snow Child. The only thing worse than prancing around the stage in a sequined and fur-lined costume—complete with bell topped shoes—is dealing with the play’s awkward and demanding writer, Bridgette. After a terrible practice culminates in an argument, the two find themselves suddenly whisked out of their world and dumped in the strange, foreign land of Winteria. Kidnapped by Piper, a double-talking Snow Sprite, they learn that winter, and the entire balance of nature, is in terrible danger. The Snow Sphere, a mystical object which brings winter snow, has been stolen. Only the legendary Snow Child can give the sprites and their queen another one. Unable to convince the sprites that he is not the real Snow Child, Tyler and Bridgette set out on a dangerous journey filled with murderous bears, sinister wraiths, and cruel gnomes to recover the lost Snow Sphere. Along the way, the two discover the powers of friendship and bravery and learn things about themselves that they never could have imagined.
