Many years ago, when I first started being involved with Singer cars there was little technical material that I could locate to help in restoration. Later when I was working in Wellington, I found some new owner handbooks in a bookshop. These however did not contain much for the home mechanic. It seems that you were expected to take your car to the Agent for service and repairs, as is the case with modern cars.
As the years went by, I found more technical material in diverse sources.
Despite a number of hints that owners in the UK would produce a book of technical data nothing appeared. However, an excellent book on the history of the Singer Company and vehicles by Kevin Atkinson was published in 1996.
I have produced this compilation to put some of the material I have into some order and to make it available to others. It covers the period from the late1920s to 1950s [approx.] and is not claimed to be complete in regard to all the models produced during that time nor contain all the technical data that might be needed. Perhaps others will be able to fill in the blanks.
