About the Author

Kate Richards is an Ambassador Girl Scout and wrote this book for her Gold Award project, because she is really passionate about women in history. She believes that preserving the amazing stories of mostly unknown women is incredibly important, both to honor their memories and to bring women's contributions to society further into the public sphere. Kate's favorite subjects are English and history, so writing a book about history is her ideal project, and she's really excited to teach people about inspiring women from history.
