Ms. Brunstetter is no stranger to the Amish way of life. As one of the founders of the Amish fiction genre, it’s no wonder she would pen her next novel on such a topic. The story has a nice flow and balance with lots of believability infused throughout the story. The dialogue is rich and each character assumes a solid role in the part he or she plays as the story unfolds. There is no predictability toward the outcome and as a result, the reader will naturally continue to turn the pages and enjoy the journey from beginning to end. There is just enough fact about the Amish way of life sprinkled throughout the unfolding plot to intrigue a new comer to Ms. Brunstetter’s latest addition to her library of titles to entice the reader to perhaps take a step back and read another. Thank you for an enjoyable read Ms. Brunstetter.

Fans of The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club series are likely to love Brunstetter’s latest. In fact, some characters even overlap. The cooking students easily pull the reader in, and the yummy recipes may leave you racing to the kitchen after reading this book. There is such a cozy feel to the story, but it is not a fluff message. All of the characters are dealing with realistic struggles, and it is interesting to see how they come together to help each other.

As each of the five students learns about the others and life itself, Heidi wonders whether she's started a cooking class or a therapy group. However, she trusts that God knows what He's doing and follows His lead. Brunstetter (The Revelation) maintains the warmth and love of her other fiction. The mix of well-drawn Amish and "English" protagonists adds a flavorful accent to the narrative. Readers will be hard pressed not to take this book to the dinner table after reading the mouth-watering recipes included. VERDICT Some may be off put by the multitude of italicized thoughts interspersed throughout this novel, but Brunstetter's many fans will clamor for her latest charming series launch.
