The Second Song #2: Sweet Reunion

Avery and Elise quickly get their romance back on track. Elise worries that as a couple they will struggle to get on an equal footing when she returns to work, but a quick trip back to Los Angeles shows that he can more than hold his own.

With Avery's support, Elise is writing her own songs and feeling a connection to music for the first time in years. But when an impromptu performance hits youtube, her manager is less than impressed...

SNEAK PEEK!

"Max, calm down." I rolled my eyes as I paced Avery’s living room.
"I was just hangin’ out with friends, it’s not like that’s the first time some video of me ended up online."
"Elise, do you know how many hits that video’s received? A video of you, a pop star legend, singing rock and roll? Playing a guitar? Singing in that raspy voice that doesn’t even sound like you? It’s going to confuse your fans! And there’s all kinds of talk about how you’ve belittled your own music!"
"Max, I was there, I know it was a different kind of song, that’s what I been trying to tell you dammit!" I stomped my foot for emphasis which Avery found quite amusing and I threw a pillow at him.
"Sure most people liked it Elise, but it’s too damn risky to put out an album outside of your genre, you have to stop trying to be something you just aren’t! Everyone at the label is nervous about this video and the feedback you’re getting is all over the place. If it gets any more attention, you’ll be the butt of every joke on late night television."
"I don’t suppose it will shock you if I say I don’t really care?"
"Of course not, you’ve never cared. You never listen Elise. "
"Right back at ya Max!" I snapped...
