Overview

It's been six generations since the Scrooge family had a truly evil member. Ebenezer is dead and buried, or so everyone thinks. Death knows differently. The spirits of Christmas managed to extract the goodness buried inside Ebenezer, changing him to a kind and generous man to the end of his days.
The Scrooges have continued to flourish down through the years, exuding kindness and happiness until the present day. Arthur and Natalie had no inkling when they were blessed with the arrival of Edwina, or of the distress their daughter would inflict upon them in the years ahead. It was as if a dark family secret, resurrected from the past had created an hereditary in her mitochondrial DNA. driven from an early age by greed and spite, Edwina quickly began to exhibit her ancestral uncle's former wicked ways and as she grew up, she became acquainted with other dubious characters who dwelt in London's East End.
Years of scheming and swindling, moneylending and associations with the underworld led to the culmination of her involvement in the disastrous North pole caper, which ended with her fleeing Santa's factory pursued by a herd of stampeding reindeer.
Laying low back in Ebenezer's old counting house in Cornhill, Edwina is desperate for ideas to make a quick profit to save her from her murderous creditors. She seeks outEbenezer's grave for inspiration and becomes alarm at confronting Death, who watches over him. Despite her distress and ever the crafty opportunist, Edwina inadvertently learns from Death about Ebenezer's hidden fortune.
Whilst all this is carrying on in London, far away in an orphanage in Canada, Edwina's long forgotten cousin, Olive Scrooge is embarking on a journey of her own. Helped by her newly appointed guardian Margaret, she sets up a non-profit philanthropical foundation to fight the cause of poverty, environmental issues, corporate and political corruption and social injustice. Basically, Olive is the polar opposite to Edwina.
The foundation becomes enormously successful in fighting for justice with Olive as it's figurehead. She has become a contemporary icon for the meek and weak on a par with Joan of Arc. Politicians and business leaders, quickly sense a bandwagon to climb aboard and flock to be a part of her rise in popularity, at least for now!
Olive sets out on a solo voyage of the Atlantic, departing from New York in a rush of publicity aboard her yacht with the foundation symbol emblazoned across the mainsail and heading for London, intent on a symbolic arrival at Canary Wharf in the heart of the city's financial district.
At the same time, Edwina discovers a chest which once belonged to Ebenezer and contained within, three mysterious keys. They are revealed as the keys to Ebenezer's vast fortune. Edwina calls a board meeting of her criminel gang and proposes that the fortune is invested in a credit card scam. Unfortunately for her, in the office next door, resides Mr Tchort who overhears the plan and decides to muscle in.
On her arrival in London, Olive is overwhelmed by the response of her plans and her uncle Arthur and auntie Natalie hear of her arrival. They meet her and plead with her to help them rescue Edwina from her wicked ways. Will Olive save Edwina? Who in turn will save Olive from Death?
There will be demons and walking dead people. Beautiful goddesses and descendants of Dickensian characters, inhabiting a part of London town which, despite outward appearances has changed little since Queen Victoria was on the throne.
