The Rock
THE ROCK is a non-fiction illustrated book about the stories, peoples, and promises in the Word of God. Years ago I became fascinated with the illustrations of that great French artist, Gustave Dore and his book of Bible Scenes & Stories (1883) written by F. McCready Harris and his other illustrations from Dante’s Inferno and Paradise Lost.
The lithographs are great illustrations of the famous Bible stories that I once assumed we have all heard. Yet, I know that many have not been brought up in the Word, nor have ever read any of the Bible's lessons.
I have written brief accounts of the Bible stories that I hope will compliment each illustration. Throughout the work, I have highlighted an area of rock, as if it stood witness to all of the famous stories.
Through the years, the rock is warn down, and even cut to fit in the Tower of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar's palace, etc., as a mute witness to the labyrinth of people's lives which lead to the real ROCK, who is our SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.
The BIBLE has been a best seller for decades and I see THE ROCK as a supplement or study guide for those not yet familiar with the Word.
