Overview

THE RIVER OF GRACE: THE FLOW OF SUBTLE ENERGY FROM GOD TO US AND BACK presents the Bible's description of the subtle energy flowing through humans and all of nature. With a passion for truth, the analysis of a lawyer, and the depth of a contemplative, Cindy K. Lail presents fresh interpretations and Biblical analysis, documenting God's creation of a dancing, spiraling, and rejoicing energetic substance that God whirls into the universe as the first step of His creative work. God uses this energy in everything else He makes, and this energy underlies and animates all of creation. The book pulls deeply from a rich vein of Biblical theology and natural philosophy that has been ignored in Western cultures for more than three hundred years but that is vitally important for a proper understanding of the Bible's message.

THE RIVER OF GRACE describes the complementary roles of intuitive spirituality and biblical theology and is the first book to show the Bible's description of all seven major energy points of the human energy field and to show the relevance of these energy points to personal health and to the development of Christian faith.

About the Author

Cindy Kay Lail is a seasoned professional, passionate about health, wellness, and the Bible. Cindy's professional experience includes legal representation, business management, charitable trust management, specialty project development, public speaking, and writing.

Cindy's dedication to optimal health led her to an awareness of subtle energy. In her late thirties, Cindy began to experience problems in her physical health, and soon thereafter she realized that she had a personal energy field and that her energy was damaged in some way, which was causing these problems in her health.

Her need to find healing for her energy led her to information coming from Chinese, Indian, and other non-Western cultures that are more aware of nature's subtle energetic dimension. The writers in these cultures describe subtle energy using terms and concepts familiar to them and their various faith traditions, though many of their terms, concepts, and recommendations are contrary to the Biblical teachings that Cindy believes. Cindy's lifelong reading of the Bible, her skills of analysis, and her perception and desire for truth enabled her to see past the verbal descriptions and to notice that the basic facts reported from culture to culture about this energy are consistent, regardless of the writer's faith perspectives and the terms and concepts they use.

As Cindy continued to read her Bible, now with broader cultural input, she spotted the Bible's rich and detailed description of the creation of subtle energy and its flow throughout all of nature. She saw that an understanding of subtle energy is relevant both to personal health and to humankind's relationship to God. Subtle energy is a part of the entire Biblical story.

Cindy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983 from Bob Jones University, in Greenville, South Carolina; a Juris Doctor degree in 1986 from Valparaiso University School of Law, Valparaiso, Indiana; and a Master of Laws degree in International Business and Trade in 2000 from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, she has studied Mandarin Chinese and Old Testament Hebrew in academic and self-study settings. She is currently reading the Old Testament in its original Hebrew language.
