The Rise to Power
The second book in the Plateaus Trilogy
The second story in the Plateaus trilogy begins as the central characters; Alby, his son, A.J. and lady friend, Becky, have left the planet Earth on their second trip into the realm of the intergalactic power, the Drumilian Dominion.
During the initial leg of their intergalactic journey to the planet Vettor, the story is accentuated with the Dominion's enthusiasm to aid Alby in his quest to bring a new political restructuring to the planet Earth. However, any restructuring which Alby seeks, will have to be postponed until a total global plan is formulated and made ready.
While on the planet Vettor, Alby works in partnership with Hurti, a Drumilian who becomes the human’s link into the resources of the Drumilian Dominion. Hurti first step in the process is her recruitment of men and women, of science and other disciplines, from the humanoid planet Vettor. She enlists these "Volunteers" in the newly formulated program. A school is then procured to educate the Volunteers as to the language, doctrines and customs of the Earth’s countries which they have been selected to infiltrate.
Another storyline begins to unravel on the planet Earth at this same time. Three Nudick warriors have been marooned on the Australian continent. These warriors, who belong to the federation most hated by the Drumilian Dominion, begin a random plundering of the countryside. At this time a deputy officer in the Territorial police, Paul Murphy, uncovers the alien threat. He begins a futile hunt which lasts several weeks, for the rogue warriors.
The rest is exciting as Alby positions himself against the world powers and it wouldn’t be the Plateaus trilogy if the Nudicks didn’t appear.
