While traveling to London, she escaped her handlers and tried to reunite with Isla. This captivating sequel finds Heather hiding out in a London zoo, wishing to return to the farm and reconcile with her family. She enlists an assortment of the zoo's inhabitants to make her desire a reality. Heather's accomplices include a wise group of Spanish bearded pigs led by their blind leader, Aitor. They take off on hoof, all the while being pursued by Heather's disgraced handler, Mr. Hornbuckle. This contemporary farce takes readers on a journey that will both inspire and enlighten. The writing is expressive, and young readers will feel for and root for the oddball characters. Educators will appreciate the many teachable moments on the history of pigs, the ills of factory farming, and the resilience of the spirit.
