About the Author

I am a veteran of the United States Navy. After 14 years of service, I developed PTSD, which led to insomnia. I am not a medication person, so I started thinking up a story to help me get to sleep. Everytime I got to a point in the story where I didn't like the direction the story was going, I would start the story over in my head. Every time I started over, the story would change and evolve. New characters were added, new abilities developed or new histories in the world came to light. After nearly 20 years of going over the story, it stopped changing, so I decided that it was time to put it on paper.

The Secrets of the Runestones series is a product of me taking a debilitating condition and turning it into something positive. The characters are all dear to my heart. Writing fantasy involves a great deal of thought and research. Trade routes, monetary systems, government and religions are just some of the things you need to think about before you get to the fun stuff like swords and magic. I believe I put in the effort, and created a story that anyone can enjoy.
