The Reckoning
It began in subtle ways: storms out of season, late winters, early summers. The animals understood before the rest of us. We saw their behaviors change. We saw the warning signs in the skies, felt the change in the air. We told ourselves nature was nature, the weather was prone to unpredictability now and then, that the bizarre patterns would pass. We kept on doing what we'd always been doing, telling ourselves there was no reason to change our way of life. Telling ourselves that none of it had anything to do with us, that we our actions couldn't possibly effect or change the universe.

Then came the red rain and we knew the Reckoning was upon us.

The dead are rising up to steal energy from the living. Natural disasters are ravaging the land. The spirits that inhabit the earth are screaming for the truth about the unraveling to be discovered before darkness totally consumes the land - screams that only the den'nai, a race of people that have been feared and shunned for centuries, are able to hear.

Now the fate of the people rests upon a den'nai named Ceilyn and a spirit who has inhabited the unlikeliest of forms to guide him on his journey. Only a few will join him as he travels beyond the veil to learn the mystery behind the Reckoning and how to put an end to it. All will be called upon to stand together and survive long enough for there to be a world left for him to save.
