Overview

Grown up with lies that were meant to protect him, Ryben loses the only man he ever called Father. His best friend, Barloy is forced to witness his own family being murdered. The two shaken young men travel across the country. They trail along with a man they have never met, an uncle that resurfaced after years of being away, an uncle full of secrets and skills that are beyond the normal human. Ryben learns the true meaning of struggle as the Murdi chase him across the land in an attempt to turn him over to the Dark Lord. Ryben's blood, if caught, will cause the completion of the gateway between this world and the realm of the Dark Lord. If the gateway is allowed to open, the world will be plunged into darkness by the Dark Lord's rule. Before he is ready, Ryben learns what it means to become a wizard and a soldier. Then he learns that he is the only one that can shut the gateway down before it is completed, but at what cost? With one misstep he could lose everyone he loves, including himself.

About the Author

I grew up dreaming about fantasy. As a kid, I secretly wrote a comic strip every week about a family of ants. I never showed anyone  I kept it hidden under my bed and finally as I grew older, I threw it out afraid that if anyone came across them; I'd be embarrassed. Now I wish I would have saved them and showed them off... kids!

Through all the years and the growth/experiences of life, I never lost my love of writing.  I played around with it through the years.  Worked on books that I never felt were good enough to publish, wrote for a few copywriting sites that didn't pay enough to keep going.  I wrote for a newspaper for a while.  It was so fun!  But, like the copywriting sites, it didn't pay enough to actually make a living.

In all my life, all my studies, I never had the confidence to try and make a go of writing for a living. I thought it was a dream that could never come true. So I went to college and became a social worker, studied raw foods and was a certified raw food chef.  Became a massage therapist and a health coach.  Finally, I became a functional medicine health coach.  And through it all, I still held writing in my heart.

Then my husband and I had an opportunity to move to the mountains.  The beauty and awe of living there awoke a strength in me.  My husband urged me to take the chance of fulfilling my dreams.  Afraid to dare, he kept encouraging me, and so I began to work at it earnestly.  I am so happy that I can now say I have a small health booklet published and the first two books of a fantasy trilogy published.

I love the world of fantasy and I love the characters that walk through my world.  I'm currently working on the third book and decided it was time to start a website. It'll be up soon. I hope you'll visit.
