The eighth in a series of fourteen books by Abbie Joules about her brother, Bendigo, as they grew up on their hard-scrabble farm in east Texas. In this episode, Ben's girlfriend, Corrinth, recounts to Abbie her experience on a double date with Ben, his best friend Billy and his date. Abbie listens wide-eyed with growing apprehension and humor as Corrinth paints a vivid tale of unlikely adventure, suspense and near disaster at the town dump involving a new pink Imperial, mounds of smokey garbage, hordes of rats, and a 'dance' Abbie is familiar with called, The Rat Stomp.

About the Author

I was born in Dalhart, Texas, received degrees at Texas A&M in Wildlife Science and Psychology, and did post graduate work at Utah State in ethology. I worked as a professional photographer and wildlife artist, and authored "The Guadalupe Mountains Of Texas", published by the University of Texas Press, a coffee table book of a west Texas national park. I then worked for 25 years as a wood craftsman and entrepreneur. I currently live in Redmond, Oregon, and avail myself of every opportunity to paddle the wild rivers of the Pacific Northwest, from California to northern Canada and Alaska.
