About the Author

Nancy Tart grew up living in dozens of small towns primarily in the southeastern United States. She discovered her passion for writing stories about the same time she learned to write, developing this talent by crafting stories for her six younger siblings. Nancy met and married her husband in Saint Augustine, Florida. She lives close to this enchanting historic town in Hastings, Florida on a small farm with her husband and their six children who serve as both inspiration and test audience. Nancy's passions other than writing are: reading, teaching, gardening, cooking, surfing, bicycling, and tennis.
Nancy finds her children to be the best source of inspiration for her writing. Her "Adventures of Long Tail" stories come from actual events and animals from their farm. "Five Alive: Stories of the Funny Sisters" series are exaggerated events in her daughter's lives. The "Ann, Mary, and Susan Mysteries" were inspired by watching her two youngest sisters and their friends at Nancy's favorite childhood home. The "Brantley Station Saga" and "Devonians" were ideas Nancy set aside until her oldest daughter read bits of them and encouraged her to finish them and add more story! Most of the short stories were written directly for her daughters. "The Princess and the Swans" is a retelling of Nancy's favorite childhood fable for her daughters.
