Overview

Josh Michaels and his mother move to the town of Milton, Massachusetts, where his life is turned upside down when he meets Dianna Imperial. Not only is she the most beautiful girl he has ever seen, but it's possible that she has powers that can rival his own. Intrigued, Josh sets out to win her heart. However, it seems that fate has other plans. Josh finds out that both his family and hers are part of a grand destiny, a prophecy passed down through their family bloodlines over generations. The two chosen demi-gods will fight with the angels of the Host for the side of Heaven against the demons of the Monarchy and the side of Hell, for the survival of humanity.

The story takes an unexpected turn as the two soulmates are split apart by circumstances beyond their control during summer break from high school. Dianna and her trainer, also called her watcher, get down to work and she learns to harness and control her powers. Josh, on the other hand, has a psychological struggle and turns away from his watcher, and his training, when he needs it the most. He is tempted by demons, who are trying to sabotage this key player in the upcoming battle. The teens must learn to help themselves and each other if they want to save us all.

About the Author

The Prime is Brian Beach's first venture into writing. He developed the concept for this book after noticing a huge increase in teen overdoses with prescription medications. Drawing on his twenty years as a 911 paramedic, he set out to create The Prime, which he classifies as a cautionary fable. Brian Beach lives in California, and is currently writing part two of the Prime Trilogy.
