About the Author

Kenneth L. Chafin died in 2001after a distinguished career committed to evangelism and ministry. He taught at two Southern Baptist seminaries, including serving as the first Billy Graham Professor of Evangelism at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He also had lengthy pastorates at South Main Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, and Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville. He and his wife, Barbara, were married 46 years and had three children.
