Born in Washington, DC, and raised in St. Louis, MO, Travis J. Petersen studied writing and literature at Emerson College and Washington University. Over a 20-year professional career, Petersen has been a journalist, music critic, copywriter, and editor. In addition to DC and St. Louis, he has lived in Boston, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City. Currently based in St. Louis, he lives with his wife Kim and their dog Dotty.

The Prayer of St. Francis is his first novel.
