Overview

The most important thing we can concern ourselves with as Christians and as Lay Dominican preachers is the notion of the imago Dei, the fact that every single one of us is created in the image of God. As we reverence God, what causes us to reverence one another, despite our failings and foilables? This book is first in the Lay Dominican Preaching Series designed to help those Lay Dominicans who realize their calling to the charism and the mission of the Order - to preach. Future volumes will include such topics as: systemic racism, preaching to the marginalized, preaching in a postmodern worldview culture, etc.

About the Author

Robert Curtis has been a Lay Dominican for nearly 30 years serving as a chapter secretary, assistant formation director, formation director, and LPC rep. He is a writer and professor of English having written 25 books, six of which are on the Order of Preachers including Dominicana: a Handbook for Inquirers, which is widely used in initial formation around the country. His two newest books, Called to Preach: the Radical Liberation of the Lay Dominican Calling, and the Lay Dominican Preaching Resource Guide,” together constitute a radical call for a vast increase in Lay Dominican preaching during a time of critical friar shortages and a decline in culture away from the Lord.
