The Power of Reinvention
Aldo Papone’s first book, The Power of the Obvious, was a collection of observations and experiences that shaped his 50-year career in corporate America. Written just five years into the 21st century, the book was a retrospective meant to teach and inspire.

The first decade of the 21st century brought dramatic and unprecedented changes to America at home and around the world. Certainly, these developments created a seismic shift in conditions and ground rules for American business that we are just beginning to absorb and understand. The conviction that business leaders must embrace new ways of thinking about and applying timeless concepts led Aldo to the focus of his second book: The Power of Reinvention

The Power of Reinvention is not a manifesto for how to reinvent your company. It does not contain everything you need to know. Instead, it is Aldo’s personal view of key topics and essential questions you could ask and answer to spark growth and renewal in your company. The topics are evergreen: leadership, talent and the role of brands. But they deserve a fresh look.

Has the Great Recession reset the American economy for good? What is the task of leadership in a world transformed?

Why are there still so few women in leadership positions in business? Is it time for U.S. corporations to make the decision to rise above the statistics?

What can businesses gain by hiring veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan? Can we tap into new military leadership and work styles – developed during two wars unlike any others we have experienced – to solve the business challenges we face today?

What do Millennials need and want to be successful? How must leadership and working styles change as our next-generation leaders enter the workforce and assume positions of responsibility?

How has digital technology changed consumer expectations about how companies must interact with their customers? What is the new consumer journey and where do brands fit in?

The Power of the Reinvention is designed to inform and challenge, as well as motivate and create a sense of urgency. Most of all, it is an energetic call to action for American business leaders to act swiftly and decisively to prepare themselves for success in the “new normal.”
