The Point of Death

Normally, she would have done anything her father wanted because that’s the way things had been her entire life, and she'd always did her level best to please him. She’d been like that right up until the moment he’d been gunned down in the street over three years ago. For weeks afterward she had grieved his loss, almost to the point of death herself. That was when she put on her thinking cap and set about getting things done in her own way, and that’s when she had extracted her own brand of revenge.

The reason she had done things this way was because the laws of the land were broken. They were broken, and in her mind, what she’d done in response to that deficiency was something that even her father would have approved of. However, even after she’d extracted her “pound of flesh”, she still had a nagging feeling, it was lodged somewhere in the back of her head, that this entire matter was somehow unresolved.
