About the Author

As the oldest child of a large family, and a granddaughter of the peddler and his wife, Teresa Radford-Brooks was fortunate in experiencing enough pre-electrical farm life in her early years to understand the lifestyles of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Her time at Radford University in Virginia, and an administrative career in the deep South, as well as the mother of three, prepared her for the organizational rigor and the insight into human behavior that enabled her to write this story.
