About the Author

Pete Pasquali IV grew up in Alaska about 25 miles above the arctic circle in the Brooks Range. He came of age in a log cabin experiencing a mostly pioneer lifestyle with his parents, his brothers, and a dog that was wolf enough to never need to be fed.

Pete’s life was just as about unusual as the poems and stories he writes – including at one time having had a pet moose residing with the family. He met many sourdough miners, sidearms were commonplace where he grew up, and law enforcement was virtually non-existent regardless of the caliber of some of the folks that came into the area. The mail was a 5-mile sled ride to town, groceries were a 300-mile trip south, and school work in the bush was entirely correspondence. He was already carrying a .22 rifle by age eleven. By age 12, he was walking traplines in the winter and mining gold with his father and brother during the short summers.

Over the years, Pete left Alaska and, due to serving in the military plus other life matters, he hasn’t been back. Although he has left Alaska behind, his heart never has.

After many years of encouragement from various people, and the support of his amazing wife, Pete has begun producing books of short stories and poetry. This latest book about the ranch started by his grandfather was inspired by requests from his late mother.

Pete now lives quietly somewhere in the lower ’48 with his lovely wife, Yvonne.
