About the Author

I was born in Havana, Cuba, but at age 7 I was sent to the U.S. with the sole accompaniment of a 9 year-old sister, so as to prohibit our growing up in a Communist country. There we were placed with an American family in New Jersey, where I eventually grew up, going on to study at Boston University. There followed a period of 16 years during which I lived no more than 2 consecutive years in any single place; this included most of Europe and several South American countries. I eventually settled in a remote area of Argentina where I live to the present time.
